Shopping Healthy!

Good evening readers!

Happy Monday! I'm working on a Monday morning song, maybe next week I will share it with you.

Another productive day in wedding-planning land. I've been working on getting the best deal on a block of rooms at one of the three nice hotels near our reception venue. Good news, wedding guests: All three hotels offer shuttles to the venue! Which means we will most likely have transportation from the hotel to the venue and back. Super convenient.

Also a productive day in diet-land. I followed my diet really well, and got in a ton of steps (thanks Zumba!). After Zumba I made a quick produce stop at Target:

That basket there contains apples, bananas, red and green peppers, onions, a sweet potato, and a head of lettuce is about to be introduced. I read somewhere that you should try to buy most of your food from the outside aisles of the grocery store, meaning the produce, dairy, and meat sections. So that's what I'm trying to do.  Although I do venture inward for things like oatmeal, almonds, and rice.

I'm trying really hard to eat more vegetables. The problem is I really don't like vegetables. Unless they're deep fried and covered in some sort of fattening sauce. I do like the starchy veggies like potatoes and corn, but I don't think that counts.

If anyone has any ideas on how to make me eat more leafy greens I am open to them! I'm getting pretty sick of eating salads. Just saying.

Thanks for all your support and ideas thus far. You all have made this journey very enjoyable.

Until tomorrow, readers.

  1. I'm not a huge fan of salads either. I do spinach, peppers, onions, and cheese in scrambled eggs; sautéed spinach for a side dish (surprisingly good - lots of recipes online); spinach in a smoothie; veggie lasagna :)
